I'm Liz - a weaver, tapestry artist and textile designer based in BBox Studios, Ouseburn, Newcastle upon Tyne. I design and create colourful unique hand woven art, rugs and cushions on a variety of weaving looms.  

Tapestry workshops:

I teach tapestry from my studio workshop and on-line.  My in person workshops are paused until 2026 and I will return with - 'beginner's tapestry' and 'learning to colour blend' - so please sign up to my newsletter to find out new dates.  Lots of new ideas are forming too.
Online tapestry classes:  
I have two online classes which are very user friendly.  I start with a Beginner's Course.  This focuses on tension, shape making, sett, meet and separate, hatching, cartoons, importance of pigtails and so much more.  We use a Mirrix style loom or I show you how to make your own.  There is 5 hours of video content plus additional written advice.  You only need to use knitting yarn in this course. 
My more advanced course is called Artful Threads.  It's a perfect follow on from my beginner's course or for those with tapestry experience. We switch to using multiple fine tapestry yarns. It was filmed over a 9 month period and has 35 hours of video content.  We cover so many topics like colour blending, abstract, seascapes, landscapes, four selvedge/fringless weaving, 3D tapestry, weaving side on and so much more.  
I have received some amazing testimonials from my students and have taken them from complete beginner through to skilled tapestry artists.

Students: are world-wide and I now have subtitled videos in your chosen language.  I have also launched a school for students in the EU.
